LCAA has been advised by the Douglas County Highway Department that Phase 3 of the County Road 42/11/34 project will begin soon after July 4, 2011. Phase 3 includes work to the west of the Carlos/Darling Bridge. The road will be closed and the bridge impassable during the project.
The project will redesign and reconstruct the intersection at County Roads 11 and 34. The hill beyond the intersection will be flattened and the woods will be cut back. The road work will include areas to the Casa Marina intersection on 34 and areas north on 11.
The county is again mandated by state law to provide water management and protect the lake from direct runoff. Holding ponds will be designed and installed to reduce runoff into Lakes Darling and Carlos. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2011.
